Sunkist WINS State!
Sunkist WINS the 2014 short course state championships! Hosted by Shockwave at the new $12m Tupelo Aquatic Center, the win marks the first team title for Sunkist since 2001 and the 31st state championship overall. Sunkist dominated the meet from start to finish, winning 42 of the 96 individual events and 6 of 16 relay events. Sunkist swimmers broke 5 state records and 15 team records.
“It was a tremendous TEAM effort,” head coach David Orr noted. “I am beyond proud of all our swimmers, coaches and parents for their dedication and focus to go up to Tupelo and get it done in their brand new facility. The win is the culmination of several years of hard work and determination by our swimmers to reach the top—they earned it!”
