Sunkist wins Swim Columbus Summer Splash for 2nd straight year! Swimmers took a break from long course swimming to enjoy some short course fun at the new pool on the campus of the MUW. Swimmers enjoyed a fun time at the pool party and cookout at Coach Chain's house after the meet. Sunkist traveled to Atlanta Father's Day weekend for SCAT's annual Swim With Dad Invitational held at Georgia Tech's Olympic pool. The meet featured chase starts and two to a lane for the distance races. Sunkist swimmers posted some great times despite the crowded conditions. Sunkist wins Stamm Family Invitational in Vicksburg for third straight year! Stormy weather didn't dampen spirits as Sunkist swimmers dominated tje competition from start to finish, winning multiple high points in the short course and long course competitions. Sunkist also claimed victory in the Splash For Cash competition, donating the $500 cash prize to Afton Strong Foundation in support of VSA swimmer Afton Wallace's fight with cancer. Farrah Pitts outlasts a packed field of Sunkist Seniors and Juniors to win annual team competition. Holiday 500 is a tournament format of 500 freestyle races with brackets set up randomly by computer. Slower swimmers get a head start based on difference in best times with most races coming down to the last lap. Winners advance to the next round. 32 swimmers battled in this year's Holiday 500 with Farrah Pitts out-lasting all swimmers for 5 rounds to win $50 gift certificate to the movies! Sunkist swims fast in Memphis at the Gil Stovell BBQ Fest Invitational. Jack Smithson reaches the finals in the 50 Fly Shootout, just missing first by .02 to winner Sean Kirwan of Collierville Swimming. Lots of improved times as swimmers adjust to long course in this early season meet. Sunkist won 5 high points and broke 1 state record! Sunkist reaches Top 10 at ESSZ Age Group Sectionals! A team high 19 swimmers competed at the regional qualifier meet held in Atlanta, GA, against the top 14 & under swimmers from the Eastern Section of the Southern Zone of USA Swimming. Sunkist sends 7 swimmers to the ESSZ Speedo Champions Series Senior Sectionals in Charlotte, NC. Several elite pro swimmers were in the field and a highlight of the trip was meeting and taking pictures with American Olympians Ryan Lochte and Cullen Jones.
